How to Host a PIE DAY
A fun, community-focused way to raise funds & awareness for Emergency Service PTSD and mental health!
What is a PIE DAY?
A PIE DAY is your chance to bring people together — at work, school, your club, or local café — to raise awareness and funds for PTSD in emergency service workers and volunteers. It can be as big or small as you like, and most importantly, it ends with someone (or many many people) taking a pie in the face!
Host a morning or afternoon tea full of pies of all kinds (apple pies, meat pies, custard pies, berry pies) and encourage participants to donate through your TEAM fundraising page to help hit your bounty and raise much needed funds for Emerge & See. This is a great opportunity to also SMASH your Pie in the face for PTSD. Remember to capture the connection, conversations, laughter and mess, and upload them to your fundraising page and social media accounts. Remember to tag @emergeandseenswandact and #PIE4PTSD #SmashTheStigma #neverjustanumber

How to Organise a PIE DAY

Pick a Date
Choose a date between 27 May and 27 June — or tie it in with PTSD Awareness Day on 27 June.

Lock in a Location
Anywhere works — lunchroom, park, office, classroom, gym, or café. Just make sure it’s:
- Easy to clean
- Safe for filming and fun
- Big enough for a cheering crowd!

Nominate Your Pie Target(s)
Choose someone brave and popular — maybe the boss, coach, team captain, or local celeb.

Set up your fundraising page
Workplace/Business or personal
- MAKE SURE TO SELECT that you want to host a PIE DAY
- Promote on social media using your campaign tiles.
- Ask guests to donate and bring a plate of pies (Sweet or savoury)
- Or, feeling generous, and you could supply the pies
- Offer a prize draw or raffle if you like.

Host Your PIE DAY!
Have fun, take photos, eat some pie, and most importantly — SMASH that pie in a face and share the mayhem to SMASH THE STIGMA!
